Hey I just met you...and this is crazy...but here's my number... SO CALL ME MAYBE? words || 314 || tag || Julian || [style=width: 300px; background-color: ffffff; text-align: justify; padding: 15px; border: 5px solid #000000; line-height: 10px; font-family: gerogia; font-size: 10px; color: 000000; padding-top: 20px;]Katherine felt extremely exhausted today, mostly because her day hadn't been all that pleasant either. A few of her teachers had critiqued some of her work rather harsh, in her mind anyways, and then she was annoyed by a few people who had annoyed her during the day, and wouldn't get the hint to leave her alone until she whacked the back of their heads, which was always a last resort for her, but it needed to be done, or else the problem never seemed to get solved.
She was frankly just glad to be home now, where she'd have a few hours of peace, even if her mother was there with her. He mom never usually was too noisy or bothering to begin with, so Katherine actually didn't mind being in the house with her. She trudged up the stairs to her room, threw open the door, and closed it before tossing her backpack randomly onto the floor, not really caring where it landed at the moment. All she knew was that she needed to unwind, which meant she would need her electric guitar. She walked over to the corner of her room where her case was, grabbed it, and brought it over to her bed.
She placed the case onto her bed, before going to open the blinds and the window so she could let some fresh air in. once this was done she then plopped down cross-legged onto her bed next to her guitar case and began the process of taking it out of it's case. Her tongue stuck out as she fingered certain notes as she tested her guitar to make sure it was tuned right. Today it wasn't so she'd need to spend some time with this. Which is what she began to do while sitting on her bed, a small smile already beginning to appear on her face. Notes || here |

Despite it having been a long day, especially with his.....interesting conversation with the lovely Katherine, it had felt good to relax as he got home, nearly erasing all of the stresses of the day from his mind, at least for now. He had sort of enjoyed the rest of his time with the so called 'airheads' that Katherine had insulted earlier, but he realized nothing was as entertaining as talking to her, once they got passed the whole serious argument thing. It was more of just him trying to wring out the flirtations that Katherine didn't seem to like, though he had no idea why he was even trying. It was ingrained in him now more than ever.
Showering before getting started on homework, he now tapped the pocket of his jeans before opening his window on the other side of his room, the click of it unlocking the only sound in the air.
He couldn't do anything if it wasn't open. He hated stuffiness, and letting in the fresh air from outside, even if it happened to be raining was something he was just compelled to always do. And since he lived right near the ocean, he enjoyed the smell of it too. It was calming to him.
Turning around, he spent a moment rummaging through one of his drawers for a shirt while rubbing the back of his wet hair, considering on what homework to start with. He was never really in a mood to do school work, but he knew he did have to get it done, and he wasn't about ready to fail just because he was lazy. At least he still had a choice in what he decided to do first.
Slipping a blue t-shirt over his head, he grabbed his Ipod from his desk and clicking it on, went to go sit at the window seat as he stared at one of the far walls, that was currently covered in pieces of what was supposed to be his next art assignment. Right now it was just a mix of photographs and sketches tacked to the wall, covering almost every spot of it, but he was sure he'd eventually make something of it if he thought long enough.
Throwing a spare pillow under his head between himself and the wall, Julian just drowned out everything else as he thought, looking out his window. His focus didn't stay for long though as he spotted his neighbor in her own room, fiddling with an instrument.....what was that?.....A guitar! Oh, of course, he should've known as it came into view. It seemed to be rather popular these days. He was even learning a bit himself in the spare time he had when he wasn't with anyone at school, doing homework or hanging out with his sister. Julian studied her for a moment before turning away. A hot guitarist for a neighbor. He wondered why he hadn't noticed her before now. What a shame, she was right under his nose, and he hadn't even paid attention to her one bit. His own loss he guessed.
Looking away and up at his ceiling, Julian just went back to his previous activity of trying to sort through his thoughts. [/style] |

Hey I just met you...and this is crazy...but here's my number... SO CALL ME MAYBE? words || 498 || tag || Julian || [style=width: 300px; background-color: ffffff; text-align: justify; padding: 15px; border: 5px solid #000000; line-height: 10px; font-family: gerogia; font-size: 10px; color: 000000; padding-top: 20px;]Something wasn't quite right with Katherine's electric guitar so she sighed and tried to adjust the strings, sighing in frustration when things didn't go right the first time. She huffed and happened to glance out the window in distraction to keep herself calm for a moment. She couldn't help but to notice her neighbor, who appeared to be a guy, was in his room and currently putting a shirt on. She found herself watching for a moment longer, wanting to know what his face looked like, but she wasn't able to see, since he wasn't facing the window. Despite not seeing his face, she couldn't help but to notice her was rather good looking. She hadn't really paid attention to her neighbors at all, being too busy keeping to herself, but now she found she was rather curious.
She decided that she was too lazy to move now however though, so she went back to focusing on her guitar, smiling again when she managed to fix what had been wrong and would now be able to play whatever she wanted, now that her guitar was all tuned up and ready to go. She then stood up off the bed, put the guitar strap attached to the guitar on, and began to rock out to some random tune that had been in her head during the day. Pretty soon she got really into it, jumping around her room a bit, throwing her head around as she played, a rocker face on while she played.
Soon enough she had rocked enough to fully relax so she went and put her guitar away before she went over to her backpack and took out some lines for a play for their drama class. She walked over to her mirror before reciting her lines with the right emotion and passion as she usually did. She happened to glance behind her in her mirror, which was across from her window, and noticed the boy was sitting at his window now. Her curiosity then took over and she set her lines down on her desk before walking over to her open window. Her window was large and it had a place for her to sit if she wanted, but she normally didn't.
She stared at the boy for a moment and happened to get a glimpse of his face and found her arm that was braced against the windowsill giving out on her and she almost fell, but she managed to catch herself. She couldn't believe it...what was he stalking her or something? How else could they possibly live next to each other, and just happen to be in rooms in their houses that were across from each other. "ASHLEY?! What the hell are you doing here, stalking me?" |
[/b] She was breathing rather deeply, still not wanting to believe what was right in front of her eyes. It couldn't be...she'd go nuts if she had to go to school with and live next to him! From what it sounded like, not only was she good, but she was really getting into it, and enjoying it too. Sneaking a peek at his side, he watched her dance around her room for a moment with a amused shake of his head. He found it actually kind of cute. Again, he really was a little saddened by the fact he didn't notice her up until now. A non-robotic girl right under his nose and he hadn't even noticed her up until now. On what planet had he been on? Either way, he promised himself he'd at least go talk to her later and introduce himself....at least when he had somewhat finished his homework. Which reminded him he should stop getting distracted by her and actually focus.
Moving his gaze to his ceiling again, he let his thoughts string together a couple of ideas, and he was about to go test them out with all of the things he had placed on the wall before him when he was called. The shrill tone startled him so much that as he was about to get up, he found he had ost his balance, and ended up rolling right off the window seat. What in the world...? That had been a dumb move. Groaning and then blushing slightly in embarrasment, though he had no clue who was there to see, he looked around his room before peeking over the edge of the window seat, wondering if his mom or someone else had called him, before looking directly in front of him.
Oh god......well this had just gotten ten times worse. He had thought home would be a place free from dealing with her and her stress inducing ways. He didn't particularly mind dealing with her at school, at least she was one of the more interesting things there, but at home, where he had his sister and other people he would definitely seek out to speak to, he just didn't think he could handle it. He wondered what kind of big deal she was going to make out of this latest installment.
"Well, if you hadn't noticed before kitten, I sort of live here.....and besides....I've been here all my life......I could say that you were actually stalking me," he finished in finality, acting as if nothing happened as he retrieved some of the papers he had dropped on the floor in his fall. Returning to the window seat, he swung his legs over the edge, so that he could face her now.
He may not have known she lived there prior to today, but he did know he did get some new neighbours sometime shortly after he had returned from LaGuardia, seeing moving boxes a year or so back on the lawn beside his house.
Deciding to move onto other matters, Julian calmly tilted his head, peering at the guitar she had put away on one of the far walls from the window. "So you play guitar?" he asked a matter-of-factly. There wasn't much of a question there, as he had already seen her playing it, but perhaps it would get her distracted from their current predicament. He didn't want to think much about it right now either.
With an inward sigh, he wondered how long she had been looking at him too. Of course he had snuck a couple glances at what he thought was a seemingly harmless hot guitar player, but of course he had to be sorely mistaken. [/style] |

Hey I just met you...and this is crazy...but here's my number... SO CALL ME MAYBE? words || 377 || tag || Julian || [style=width: 300px; background-color: ffffff; text-align: justify; padding: 15px; border: 5px solid #000000; line-height: 10px; font-family: gerogia; font-size: 10px; color: 000000; padding-top: 20px;]Katherine was distracted from her shocking reaction when Ashley promptly fell onto his butt in his own surprise. One second, she was shocked, and the next she was laughing rather hard, finding Ashley's reaction pretty damn funny. After a moment or too she was able to stop laughing and wasn't as shocked anymore, but she rolled her eyes at Ashley's response. "Well how was I suppose to know that? And me? Stalking you? In your dreams! I most certainly am not stalking you." |
[/b] She figured she was gonna be there for a while, so she sat herself down on the window seat as well, sitting sideways on it, and leaned back against the wall. She was a bit taken aback by how casual he was suddenly being, but she found herself in too good of a mood to ruin the sort of easiness that was between them at this moment, so she just went along with it. "Yeah...I have for quite a bit of my life actually. I just love the way it sounds and how everything else just kind of...melts away when I'm playing on it."[/b] She found it rather strange to be so honest with someone, but she found she didn't really mind, as long as she was in a good mood and not feeling particularly defensive at the time. She looked on behind Ashley and saw some of his art work over there and became curious as to what exactly it was, since she couldn't see it too well from where she was. To keep up the conversation she casually pointed to the far wall behind Ashley and asked, "So, what's all that one your wall over there?"[/b] She just also wanted to get off the subject of her guitar, because if he had seen the guitar, he had probably seen her acting all crazy-like while playing, and she didn't really want to feel embarrassed right now. She wondered how the rest of the year would go on, now that they realized they were neighbors. She hopes it wouldn't be too difficult and maybe it wouldn't even be that bad. Although, here she was just plainly being waaay over optimistic, because things usually didn't end up going the way she wanted or wished them to go. Oh great, he was never going to hear the end of this. He was basically going to hear of it until the end of eternity. Now if only there was something he could do to even the playing field.
"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up chuckles, you're only going to get to see this once," he said lowly, though loud enough for her to hear, looking away at the hand with his tattoo on it for a minute before Katherine composed herself. "Maybe if you opened your eyes you would notice things more. That's what they're there for, kitten," he rolled his eyes as if the idea were common place. Which it was. But at least it was something to make a point out of. "In my dreams? If I do remember correctly, I met you today, and as such haven't had the chance to dream about you. So don't start getting over your own head, kitten," he finished his little retaliation rant, emphasizing the nickname he knew she hated, before composing himself in a pleasant smile.
He wouldn't have made such a big deal out of it, except for Katherine's reaction, and he knew that if he didn't she would probably start first. Not that he wanted to argue, but he was on the defensive again. And when that happened.....well they had seen before first hand what happened when he got defensive.
"So I'm guessing it's one of your many other 'talents'," Julian nodded to her guitar again. "I'm glad I got to get a glimpse of it," he grinned. He would admit that she was rather great at it, but better than that was her habits while playing that he enjoyed and found amusing.....and he would admit, cute. He didn't bring it up though, and would rather keep that little fact to himself. Nodding lightly at her words, Julian's eyes looked to the sky above them for a minute before looking back. "Yeah.....it's understandable. Everyone has something like that at least."
Looking behind him, as if to remind himself his homework was actually there in the first place, Julian shrugged simply. "Homework?" he offered. He usually didn't really like explaining what he was up to before it was finished, like most other artists, but then again, most other artists were always too reluctant to explain even after they were finished. "Kind of just pieces of a puzzle for the moment."
With the ideas he now had in mind, he wasn't sure which path to take, and he was going to figure that out for himself before Katherine started distracting him. A lot of what was on his wall was just some quick and more elaborate sketches, some of (more like a lot of) the ocean, plants and what not, and his family members, and other things he found of interest, like some of his female classmates, or spots around school. Others were photographs of a whole slew of subjects, placed here and there where they matched the sketches. He had some slight ideas brewing in his mind, but to anyone else they'd just seem like a disorganized clutter. Which is why Julian didn't go into any further detail about it. [/style] |

Hey I just met you...and this is crazy...but here's my number... She could see more of this happening in the future. She was also looking forward to laughing at him again, just because it was so entertaining. She scoffed at what he next said about her though, finding that he'd managed to get under her skin again...and she hated it! Nobody else she'd ever encountered had been able to do this, but then Ashley just comes waltzing along and BAM! Everything she usually ignores suddenly drives her insane when done by him.
“Well sorry that all my attention wasn't on little ol' you. I mean, I can't be focused on you all the time, cuz my life is not about you, so therefore I see no reason as to why I have to take more notice of you,” |
[/b] she said, crossing her arms and turning away from him for a moment. She became even more angry and frustrated at his next comment and well, let's just say Ashley was lucky to not be within her reach, because she'd have whacked him pretty hard on the head if he had been. “You are so lucky that you're not within my reach right now. I told you not to call me kitten! It's obvious that you can't even follow the simplest requests asked of you I guess.”[/b] It was obvious to tell Ashley had gotten to her, and that smile he had plastered on his face now wasn't helping her mood at all either. “And just cuz you haven't slept yet doesn't mean it's impossible. What, are you saying you've never daydreamed about something before?”[/b] When he mentioned her guitar and her guitar playing her immediate thoughts went to the fact that he had seen her messing around and a blush slightly tinged her cheeks in embarrassment. She was determined not to let him know that this got to her so she sneakily took a calming breath before acting like nothing had just happened. “Yeah, I'm pretty good at it. Have been for quite some time now...”[/b] She didn't elaborate anymore on it though, because that would lead to thoughts down a road she really didn't want to travel down. She simply just nodded at his other comment and hoped for a change of subject soon enough. Her wish was granted this time when he took the bait and started talking about what was on his walls, which she was still curious about. She turned her head to the side as she looked, trying to understand what he meant by pieces of a puzzle and looked curiously at his work, well as well as she could from as far away from it as she was. “Huh...interesting.”[/b] She didn't understand exactly what he was trying to do, but she didn't not like it either. It was just...intriguing...as was this knew Ashley that she barely knew anything of. And he wasn't liking it one bit. Scratching at his tattoo for a moment, a nervous tick ever since he got it, he looked up on her, a sudden mischievous glint coming into his eye. When he got on the defensive, he was determined to have the last word, over anything. "In any case, if you're going to make a habit of screaming my name, you might as well let me give you a proper reason to," he said with a smug grin on his face. There, that should even the score a bit. And anyway, she wouldn't be able to hit him from all the way over there, so he thought he was safe for the time being, allowing him to even make the comment in the first place. "It was pretty much your fault I fell in the first place anyway," he finished with a simple shrug, as if that was all there was to say on the matter.
"You aren't doing a very good job at it now, kitten," the smugness returned to his face. Arguing with him was just making her point look weaker, which he didn't mind in the slightest, even though he was sort of enjoying her lashing back attitude, he admitted in the back of his mind. "You've seemed to make me a pastime of yours in the past couple of hours," he noted. She was after all the one who had seeked him out in drama, and right now. Not him. In fact, he would've gone on oblivious to her if she hadn't started with him.
Tilting his head with a mocking hurt expression, Julian pulled off puppy dog eyes for a moment, before a light smirk came to his face. "I know I am, I'm taking full advantage of that blessing right now. Besides," he purred the last bit, "the more you argue with me Kitkat, the more I can't help but be reminded of an adorable bratty baby kitten."
Giving her a look of amused shock, Julian shook his head, picking up his sketchbook from the window seat bench as he began to draw absentmindedly. "Of course I do, I happen to daydream all the time. Except......just not of you. Not yet, anyway. Maybe give me something to dream about and you may just find yourself in them eventually." He wasn't really getting any homework done, not for a while he expected. It didn't really bother him much though, he'd probably just work through the night, and this was much more entertaining than anything else he had to do at the moment.
Looking up, he caught her blush, and dropped his gaze down to the paper, so she wouldn't catch him doing it. "So I can tell.....and exactly how long is 'a long time' with the guitar?" he asked curiously, a face taking shape on the smooth surface of the paper.
As his gaze rose to her face again, he didn't really add anything else about what he was doing. He had been reluctant to speak about it in the first place, and her comment had nothing he could say back to it, so he just let it be.

It was obvious she was pissed at him now. "You...you...you complete nutter! There's no way in hell that I'd ever do that. And it wasn't screaming! It was a shout in surprise, not...not what you're thinking!" |
[/b] At his next comment she glared at him again. "Ohh, I see. So I'm not allowed to be surprised by certain things and make a fool of myself when this happens, without getting ridiculed by you, but you...you on the other hand get a free pass then, right? Ha! I don't think so! There is no free pass from my insults card, and I'm not going to create them either. You just have to deal with it, since you deem it necessary to make fun of me making a fool out of myself."[/b] She was seriously beginning to tire of of ash's antics and of him being able to get to her and she'd had just about enough now. At his comment about having been talking to him for quite some time now she sighed in frustration. "Well clearly I've made a huge mistake on my part then. Maybe if you weren't such a...such a moron, I'd actually enjoy talking with you. But since you're being such a...such a cabbage head it's literally impossible!"[/b] She scoffed at what he next said, she was about one more works from Ash away from just chucking something at him, despite the possibility of not getting it back without going over there herself, and she just wasn't gonna do that. "That-that's ridiculous! You're an idiot if you think I wanted to be in your dreams anyways, it's just an expression! I never even said I wanted to be so quit misunderstanding everything I say, Ash!"[/b] At one of his last comment she had really had it. If she didn't value her possessions so much should would have chucked something at him, hopefully knocking him off of the window seat again. "Y-y-you jerk! Did you seriously just call me a brat?! If anyone's the brat it's you, since you can't keep your damn mouth shut! I don't know why I even bother..."[/b] That last comment really got to her and she was just done. She had been sitting cross-legged on her window seat, but after that comment she turned around so her back was up against the wall and she grabbed a book for school that was on the floor and she immersed herself in it, being determined to completely ignore Ashley now. She seemed one who would put up a strong front around anyone else. To see her like this....well he didn't know what it was yet, but he didn't mind it. He didn't bother replying though. The damage was already done, and he had definitely gotten the last blow in their conversation. Not that he wanted to fight with her, but in his eyes, she had started it. And he wasn't one to back down....not anymore anyway. Scoffing lightly, he stared at her as she turned red and started retorting him, clearly amused by his work. With a smile on his lips, he only shook his head, going back to his paper. "Mhm....you say that now...." he murmured to himself, doubting she would hear him. He wouldn't rule it out just yet. She seemed to want to reach out to him anyway, even as friends, despite the fact that he seemed to infuriate her.
He could be romantic, and say the things that would have girls wrapped around his fingers, which he often did. But with Katherine, he didn't know what it was, but he didn't resort to it. He doubted she would have any of it anyway. In fact, he was a romantic at his core, though he hid it under his flirtations. He'd detested that part of him, blaming it for his misfortune. The only part of love he hadn't become bitter about was that which he shared with his family. And he believed it would take a miracle to genuinely bring romance out again.
Her attempt at insulting names only made him chuckle louder. It was a cute attempt really. Not many words could hurt him now, he'd built his walls that way, except for stuff that cut at him personally...betrayal too. Oh kitten, if you only knew how adorable you sound right now....
Julian didn't register her glares, if he did, it just made his smile widen. She couldn't really back up her threats that well it seemed, unless she would hit him or throw something at him, but he doubted she would be so brash as to do something like that now. Maybe later...but not now. Catching her stutters, he looked up at her again, trying to keep his smile under control, his features shifting into a blase neutral attitude. They seemed to betray the strength of her words, and he was questioning if she even meant them. In any case, he stayed silent again, finishing up the quick sketch he had done.
He hadn't really had a clue what he had been drawing before he started, but blinking, almost doing a double take, he couldn't believe that he had drawn Katherine's face, one of her blushing.....she looked prettiest to him then- wait what was he even thinking?! Closing his sketchbook with finality, he looked up to see Katherine's back turned to him. It looked like she had finally finished her speech and learned better than to continue arguing with him. Good idea too.
With a gentle sigh, he finally got back to his homework, sending his focus that way. He even managed to finish his art project in a shorter amount of time than he would have expected, finding it to be something about the nature of where he lived. Taking a couple of the sketches and photos off of the mess on his wall, he placed them together in a small folder and set it on his desk. Moving onto something else then, he plopped onto his bed, choosing to work on English, grabbing the book he had to finish for class. It was slightly harder to focus on then. As much as he liked it, they usually just learnt the same thing over and over again.
He found himself glancing over at Katherine every once in a bit, unsure of why. Perhaps he was just curious. Yeah, that was probably it.
