[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] I AM A HOSTAGE, TO MY OWN HUMANITY The Words: too lazy to check The Outfit: clicky The Notes hey (: It was just one of those days already. She had woken up around eleven, normal for her on a Saturday of course. She got dressed in shorts, a tank, and an over sweatshirt type deal. She threw on her gray converse, some jewelry, and grabbed her phone and guitar and headed out. Today just felt like the day to go play at the park. It seemed nice enough outside, and she hadn’t been there in a while, so, why not go there? It took her awhile to get there of course, not having a car or not being legally allowed to drive as well. She saw people make sly comments about her and her shorts, but she didn’t care. It felt good outside to her. She didn’t mind the cold at all. Once Emi got to the park, she got her usual spot on the bench under the tall oak tree. She smiled as she saw the usual folks pass by from running and the kids that were around with their parents on Saturday mornings. She smiled at the kids that waved to her and knew her well. She felt accomplished in the area of at least being social with the people around the school. The one’s inside the school however, was a different thing. She didn’t have many friends, rather acquaintances that she knew very well.
The curly red head sighed about the fact as she got her guitar out. It was a sad life, but she didn’t mind. No close people, no hurt feelings if anything happened to them. She shook her head back and forth, but quickly stopped as the regular crowd of kids gathered around her. She couldn’t help but smile at the small children sitting cross legged, waiting for her to start playing. She bit her bottom lip and tuned up her guitar. She looked out to the crowd and saw about four kids sitting in a little semi-circle, waiting for her to play a song. She started to play Over Thinking from Relient K. The kids’ faces lit up and smiled as she started to play. ”I was thinking, over thinking. That there’s just too many scenarios. To analyze, look in my eyes. Cause your my dream please come true.” She couldn’t help but smile and giggle a little bit while playing the song to the little kids. Little kids could be amused by anything nowadays, especially by someone who could play an instrument.
After she finished out the song, the little kids started to leave one by one. She half smiled and looked down at the ground at her shoes. She swung her legs back and forth, being a very small girl. She became sad when the kids all left; she had lost her fans. Well, now she guessed that she would just have to play by herself. She started to play Be My Escape from, once again, Relient K. She absolutely loves the band so much. She could never get enough of them. She wasn’t sure why she loved the band so much, but she didn’t care. She loved the vocals and all the chords and whatnot for their songs. ”I’m giving up, I’m givin up slowly. I’m blending in so you won’t even know me, apart from this whole world that shares my fate.” Playing music in general made her smile very wide. Piano and guitar were her favorites to play of course; it’s the instruments she originally learned on to play. However, she thought she was no good at it. She was good at the more drawing side of the picture. She grinned at her joke. |

They all had been hanging out on Titanium Street causing their usual mayhem before Avery lost them. Even though they all were similar in certain ways, they had their individual taste in life, thus they all wanted to go to different stores. He had went to a store that sold different posters and what not but didn't find anything that caught his eye. But oh well, they'd find him soon...or maybe he should text them to be careful because he was one of the few that knew what they were capable of getting into. With that thought he quickly sent a text to Kyle & Logan but just for the fun of it, did't tell them where he was.
Approaching the park that had not been too far off from the shopping street district he saw kids gathered around in a circle. Just as his eyes caught on to the younger kids he heard music. His eyes savored the sound and at a casual pace he began to walk behind the player of the music until he was a yard or so away behind the girl. He did his best not to move or hum along to the song. Relient K wasn't exactly his favorite band but the songs she sung appealed to him for than usual. He just listened and when the kids spotted him he just put his finger up to his lips and they all giggled, though the girl probably figured it was from the music or the children just being giddy which was in their nature.
Once all the kids left he was ready to make his presence known but he didn't because she started to sing again. Waiting until she was done he started to slowly walk over, moving from behind her and to where the kids were previously gathered around. "That was beautiful." He said, his brown eyes dancing with amusement. He felt a little bad that all the kids had left did they not have any clue what good music was when they heard it? He guessed not. "For some reason that song sounds better coming from you." He grinned before he looked at her a quizzically. "Do you go to Kingswood Prep?" He asked. It'd be extremely cool if she did. If he didn't have time to talk to her now maybe he could talk to her once they went back to school the next day.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] I AM A HOSTAGE, TO MY OWN HUMANITY The Words: too lazy to check The Outfit: clicky The Notes hey (: She sighed after she was done. She didn't know why she didn't come to the park more often. The people here were so nice and whatnot, always sitting around and listening to her when the had time. She looked down and sat her head down on her guitar. She started plucking the strings, retuning after the two songs because she played the guitar with much force and power, she usually made the strings go out of tune within a few songs. Which, was a good and a bad thing. The good thing was she could make a lot of sound come out of the guitar, bad thing is well, the out of tune thing going on. After retuning, she played a few chords and smiled once again at the wonderful sound that the stringed instrument produced. Her head shot up when she heard a male voice saying that it was beautiful. She couldn't help but blush at the compliment and without looking up at the guy, she responded, "Uh. Thank you. I um, have been playing guitar for awhile now."
Her father had taught her guitar while her piano skills came from piano lessons. She looked up at the voice and saw a very handsome guy standing before her. He had short, shaggy hair that was mixed with blond and brown. He had dark brown eyes and pale skin like hers; not as pale, but she was used to that. He said that the song sounded better coming from her. She blushed again and looked down, swinging her legs back and forth, "Thanks." From that sentence, she could tell he wasn't an avid Relient K fan, but she didn't mind. People had different tastes in music of course. She wasn't big on country, but apparently Relient K was in the "country" category of things. There were, of course, other things she couldn't stand at all like rap, but she still liked some rap like 3OH!3 and the small Linkin Park stuff. There were the goods and the bads in all cateogry of music; it just varried from person to person.
The boy then asked if she went to Kingswood. She nodded, looking up at him, "Yep. I'm only a freshman though, so you that's why you probably haven't seen me." However, she was apart of the choir, drama, and key club at the school. However, the school year had basically just started up, so getting her face around the school for things wasn't exact one, on her to-do list, and two, haven't had chances to happen yet. She always wanted to be behind the camera, thus being a painter and photographer or course. However, she still enjoyed helping others out and sometimes being the center of attention, but only for just a minute or so. However, looking at the boy more carefully now, she realized something, "Aren't you the key club vice president? I'm just a loley new member." She kind of smirked at her own comment. It was true though. New freshman members didn't get much recognition in anything they joined. She didn't mind though of course. If she can help people out without being recognized or anything, she'd be good. |

He caused that out of a lot of girls when he talked to them and complimented them. He guessed it was just a natural reaction when someone got a good feeling from someone else. "When I was younger I tried learning, I had horrible coordination before basketball so I wasn't all that good." He grinned sheepishly, remembering when his mother use to yell at him to stop playing the tortuous, broken music he played.
He studied her a little more and her red hair definitely caught his eye. "You should be my first red-headed friend, it looks quite unique on you." He complimented her again but wasn't really trying to. After all these years of trying to make people be confident about themselves it came naturally to comment and compliment people. Especially if he deemed that those people were nice.
"Oh I remember freshman year." He laughed, about to call her a freshie but then remembered how much he despised the people that called him that so he stopped. "I can be a little oblivious to people and faces so I could have seen you a few times." Though now that he looked at her he could tell this was his first time. He'd remember her red-hair and delicate features. His self-consciousness kicking in he felt a bit regretful all of a sudden. He was sixteen, but his voice wasn't the deepest out of all the males. It had matured over the past four or so years but there were guys with some really deep voices at Kingswood. He just hoped he didn't sound like a girl. He remembered those days, sixth grade, getting picked up because of his light voice. Yeesh.
When she asked if he was the vice president he nodded with a soft smile. "Yeah, I love helping out wherever I can. President just seemed too big of title." He admitted before he scrunched up his eyebrows. "Whatever! We all are equal in the key club, as long as your helping out your valued." He told her before he remembered something. "Oh yeah! Next week we have a meeting after school, you should definitely come. We can hang out." By hang out he of course meant discuss matters that would prove to help their community...then they could actually hang out like teenagers afterwards.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] I AM A HOSTAGE, TO MY OWN HUMANITY The Words: too lazy to check The Outfit: clicky The Notes hey (: She couldn't help but kind of smile when he said he had horrible coordination before basketball, so he wasn't that good. "Come on. I bet you weren't that bad." She liked making people feel better, which meant kind of lying even if it was true. Then again, she didn't know this boy that well, for she had just met him. Maybe he was just not trying to show off anything. "Would you like to try again?" she asked. She hated lending her guitar out, but she would have liked to hear him try and play. "Don't be shy." She leaned the guitar up against the bench. She wasn't sure if he would take the offer or not, but she would still be interested to hear him play. She didn't think she was that good, but apparently this guy thought she was, which was a self-esteem booster for her, which she pretty much needed.
She caught him looked at her, maybe like studying her. He then mentioned that she would be his first red head friend and it looked unique on her. She smiled and giggled a little bit, "Why thank you. My hair was kind of this light red before, but then I dyed it to be this bright." She always felt the need to explain the whole hair thing to people. Usually people would ask about the hair first and how she got it to be that bright. It took a few different times of trial and error, but about the fifth time, it came out just right. She then bgan playing with her hair, twirling her finger around her curls and tucking some of her hair behind her right ear, showing off her double piercings and industrial. The industrial was new and still kind of new, and painful. She tried her best not to wince or anything when she accidentally touched it.
He then went on to explaining how he remembered his freshman year, laughing about it. He said that he can be oblivious to names and faces, and probably could have seen her around before. She smiled, but not really remembering him in the halls though. He was kind of cute, so she would have remembered seeing him in the halls after a certain class out of the day. She didn't want to just correct him though, because she didn't want to come off as a creeper or anything. And plus, she didn't want to come off as argumentitive either. He also seemed a little shy, probably because of his voice most of all. It wasn't the deepest thing in the world she had noticed, but she didn't really mind. It was adorable to her really. Besides, the Sleeping with Sirens guy had a high voice and he was awesome.
He confirmed that he was the vice president of key blub and said he loved helping out whenever he could. She smiled, "Me too. I just don't like getting too much attention for doing it. I just wanna help people." He continued on and said they were all equals in key club. Well, it was nice to know that small fact. He also mentioned a meeting after school next week and hanging out. She smiled, "Sounds like fun. But, I'm guessing 'hanging out' at a meeting means coming up with ideas for helping out the community. We could go pick up something to eat afterwards though if you'd like." She felt acomplished. She had just come here for a simple day in the park, and had made a new friend. A cute one, but still. He seemed super nice and very into some of the things she was into. "Do you do anything else besides key club?" |

"No trust me you don't want to hear me play." He said with a laugh. On top of that they were out in public and the last thing he wanted to do was embarrass himself in front of a girl and a whole bunch of strangers. The kids already came off as harsh judges why the hell would he want to get criticized by six year olds? He did feel bad though because all she wanted him to do was play but he refused. He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly and smiled. "Maybe some other time back around the school I can show you? You'll have to cover your hears though." He joked before he listened to her.
She explained the whole hair thing to him and he was genuinely interested. He had met a few red-heads in his sixteen years alive but never really developed a close friendship with them. He wanted her to be the first. "Wow, I like it. Brings out your..." He paused for a second because he didn't want to sound like some hopeless flirt. "...bright eyes." He continued quickly with a sheepish smile. He felt a little awkward standing so he walked over and sat on the top of the bench, his feet a foot or so away from her bottom because he was sitting on top of the part where your back was suppose to go. Leaning down so he was on her level he then commented on his own hair. "I've never dyed my hair...I style it all the time though." He admitted. "I think I'm obsessed with my hair." He chuckled at the fact that his hair was his guilty pleasure.
She seemed like a really kind and giving person. All she wanted to do was help with little recognition. "That sounds like something a key club president would say. You should definitely run for president next year." Unfortunately and fortunately at the same time, she was right. "Yes. The key club discussions are sort of fun though, people have so many ideas for things to do it never gets old." He replied to her assumption about the 'hanging out' at key club meetings. Then she offered to go get lunch and his eyes lit up with happiness. He had made a friend! "Okay then after that maybe we can go to the beach or something...so I can play for you." Then she mentioned if he did anything else.
"I do elite choir to, I guess I'm a good singer. Me and most of my friends are in it. I could sing to you on the beach too!" He laughed. He was an outgoing person so he didn't mind singing to people. "I'm also in lacrosse and basketball. Junior varsity for both..." He added at the last minute. "Are you doing anything this year? I can understand if your not though. I didn't do much freshman year." He didn't want her to feel bad. Some people just didn't get involved like others. That's how he was middle school and ninth grade. Then he met most of his friends and decided to expand his horizon.
