CLUB SIGN UPS !
ASB COUNCIL !
This is voted on by the entire school. Only sophomores and juniors are allowed to run, which means the council is made up of only Juniors and Seniors. These five people are the students who are responsible of student/staff relations. They check up on what's best for you, organize school dances, homecoming, etc. and have committees. They have random meetings throughout the school year. The members are just people who will help them get the work done, some projects are too big for five people to get started!
BAND !
You know it. Pretty much self explanatory, if you play a wind or percussion instrument this is the place for you. The elective is whenever it fits into your schedule, the club meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
BOWLING CLUB !
Since the school is lacking a team, a group of bowlers put this group together so students could go to the local lanes for practice every Monday afternoon. You pay for your own shoes and pitch in to rent four lanes.
CHESS CLUB !
For those who love playing competitively or leisurely, this group accepts beginners as well. Meets after school Thursdays with the occasional field trip.
CHOIR !
For our singers at Kingswood. We have the elective course, as well as our Elite which meets more outside of school than the school elective.
DRAMA CLUB !
For those who are interested in this type of art. We need technical staff as well as actors, but of course, not everyone can have the lead. The drama teacher, Ms. Kapps supervises and puts on a winter and spring musical. Meets after school everyday in the winter and spring, in the fall, once-a-month get togethers to help people get to know each other.
GAME CLUB !
This club is all about playing games and talking strategy- whether it's board, card, or video games. Meets Wednesdays after school.
KEY CLUB !
This club is all about volunteering and making our community a better place. You must complete a certain amount of hours (determined by the President each year) to be in good standing. Meets twice a month, but there are plenty of volunteer opportunities throughout the month.
MATH TEAM !
It's not a sport, but you do have Math Olympiad meets every month. Must be skilled in math, you meet every Wednesday after school to solve brain teasers and work on your skills.
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY !
This club is invitation only, you must have a 3.0 GPA and good behavioral standing to be considered. Open to Juniors & Seniors only. This group does things to help out the school and the community around them. Meets Thursday mornings.
ORCHESTRA !
For string instruments only. Our chamber orchestra took first in state this year, let's home we can do it again. Elective is our normal orchestra. Chamber is our elite and is an elective, but there are random morning and evening practices as well.
STUDENT COUNCIL !
These are for each year in school. Freshmen are chosen by faculty based on the quality of their application and how responsible and leader-like they seem. There are sophomore, junior, and senior councils, and they all rank below the ASB Council, who make the head honcho decisions. These students represent your class at meetings ASB calls to order, and lead class-related activities throughout the year.
YEARBOOK/NEWSPAPER CLUB !
This club puts together the school's yearbook and publishes the monthly newspaper. Authors, photographers, and editors are always needed in the right amount. Meets Tuesday mornings.
WAFFLE CLUB !
This club is just a club to hang out in after school. They don't always eat waffles at every meeting, but it's really just a place to chill, be comfortable, and meet new people. They meet twice every week.
THE CODE !
Be realistic, and be sure meeting times do not overlap. No need to post in code. If you're putting your character up for a club with positions (such as Yearbook), if you have any idea what they'd be doing in there please specify. IF YOU HAVE A SUGGESTION FOR A CLUB, please PM Emma or Claire.
