Ryann simply grinned as a reply to Monica's first comment. There was a clock on the wall to her left that she had just noticed. They only had about five more minutes before the bell rang and they'd have to get back to class. When Monica commented on their discussion of brothers, Ryann nodded. "Yeah," she simply said, elongating the word the way most people do when they don't know what else to say. Ryann liked Monica, she seemed pretty cool, but lunchtime conversations can only go on for so long before they get boring, especially when they're with someone you don't know very well. In those cases, Ryann didn't want to say anything that could be taken the wrong way and make the person wrongly assume something about her, but she didn't want to be boring and say nothing either. Which one Ryann chose to do depended on the situation. In this case, she chose to say nothing because she felt there was nothing left to say on the topic without making it super boring.
"Hey, what class do you have next?" Monica interrupted the silence that had settled between the two girls. Ryann paused for a quick second before answering, trying to be sure she knew the answer to her question. "Honors Biology with Mr. Franks," she told her. "You?" Ryann's class required her to go to the complete opposite side of the school. She didn't think Monica was in her class, if she was Ryann hadn't noticed her before and she was usually a pretty observant person. It was unusual for something to slip by her, especially something like this. Ryann was sure she would have recognized Monica earlier if she had a class with her. Even after only a couple weeks of classes, Ryann had the roll memorized for each of her courses. It was the first thing the teachers did when the students entered their class, how could she not? Besides, Monica may be very popular and nice and all, but she didn't strike Ryann as the type to take honors classes. If she did, Ryann would be surprised. Usually popular people who fit into Monica's clique weren't the sharpest tools in the shed. Ryann, on the other hand, had gotten into Kingswood because of her academics. A lot of people just thought she was a nerd because she was so smart, but she tried her best not to fit into the usual stereotypical version of a nerd. Ryann stood and glanced at Monica, hoping she would get up as well so Ryann wouldn't feel so awkward just standing there.

TIK TOK ON THE CLOCK DJ BLOW MY SPEAKERS UP
TO-NIGHT IMMA FIGHT TIL WE SEE THE SUNLIGHT Monica shook her head at Ryann. Not only did she not have that class, but hers was not anywhere near Mr. Franks' room. "I have History with Lippert," Monica said. "So I'm headed towards the history hall- which I'm sure you isn't anywhere near where you're going." she chuckled a little bit. She took note that Ryann said Honors. Monica had only taken one honors class in her life, and that was last year. She took Honors English, and suffered badly. It was not the class for her, Monica was still confused why she was put in it in the first place. Monica assumed that Honors was the norm for Ryann, Monica's gathered that she's intelligent, and probably has a lot more wit than Momo herself.
Standing up shortly after Ryann, Monica dusted off the seat of her skirt and let out a deep breath, picking up her bag and without speaking both girls started walking in the direction they both needed to go. Monica figured they would walk together until they needed to split off- Monica to go down to the history hall and Ryann to walk across campus to the science wing. "So, um, what's your favorite thing about Kingswood?" Their conversation would be coming to a close anyway, so it didn't matter if this was a bad question or not. "Classes? Sports? Boys? Location? Dorms?" Monica had a big grin on her face. She could already guess the answer, but who knows, she might be surprised.
As they took slow steps (Monica was a slow walker when she wasn't in a rush to get somewhere) she already began dreading what was in store for her when she walked into class. No, she wasn't gonna ditch today, it's too early in the year for ditching. She wanted to go slower and slower, but there would be no avoiding it and a tardy wouldn't be admirable on a report card. So she kept at the same pace, slowly conversing with Ryann. They still had a ways to go at this rate, but only a minute probably. But a lot can happen in that amount of time. We'll see, we'll see.
TIK TOK ON THE CLOCK BUT THE PARTY DON'T STOP NO! this post was made especially for claire/ryann. it has 361 words according to wordcounttool. here are emma's notes: le thread is almost complete~ bad post. D:

Ryann matched Monica's pace. Judging from the rate she was moving, she was in no hurry to get off to class. Ryann felt the same. They had only been back at school a couple weeks and everyone was already tired of the work and once again ready for summer. Ryann was no exception to this. She enjoyed her time when she wasn't in class, but even the first week, the teachers had piled on the homework and she dreaded that walk to class each day to receive more work that she'd have to spend her afternoon doing. Monica said something about going to the history hall and it not being anywhere near where she was going and Ryann chuckled. "You're right, they're on complete opposite sides of the campus,"
she agreed. Ryann thought for a moment before replying to Monica. What was her favorite thing about Kingswood? What was her favorite thing about Kingswood? She didn't even know. Ryann hadn't exactly picked this school when she was entering ninth grade, her family had just assumed that's where she wanted to go since both her older brothers went there. And Ryann hadn't disagreed, she just hadn't had a say in the subject either. She loved Kingswood, though, so it wasn't a problem. But what was her favorite thing? Now that was a tough choice. "I guess it's just a combination of everything," Ryann told Monica with a shrug. "I mean, I'm getting a very high quality education here, so that's a good thing. I love the beach, so the location is perfect. The school has a great athletic program, even if I'm not the most athletic person." Ryann paused, then added another comment after a moment. "And you know, boys are always a plus." She said the last comment with a grin. Sure, Ryann didn't date a whole lot and when she did they weren't always the hottest guys in school, but she never passed up a chance for some eye candy on the beach. She was a teenage girl, afterall. Ryann glanced at a clock on the wall they were passing. The bell was about to ring. Just ahead of them was the intersection where Monica would have to turn right and Ryann left. As they approaced, Ryann smiled at her new friend. "Well, it was nice talking with you. I guess I'll see you around?" Ryann wasn't really sure what to say. She waited for Monica to bid her farewell and then headed off down the hall to her left towards the science wing.
