That one stings a little I'm always in the middle And I won't say anything at all "....It is the east, and you......you are the sun."
Julian was never one for mushy over dramatic romance scenes, but he really had no choice in the matter. On the stage in the room where he had drama class, out of all the possible people that could have been picked, he had been forced to play Romeo in one of the most iconic romance scenes in history.
At least he had some artistic freedom, having to improvise some modernity into the scene for the exercise.....and his partner wasn't half-bad looking (or half-bad at her part, but that was besides the point) either. He guessed he could deal with it....and playing up the charmer was what he really did best. So this was a piece of cake for him. Throw in a couple sweet smiles, some soft lingering touches here and there and a whole lot of eye contact and he had it in the bag. Before he knew it, their teacher had called cut, calling the end of the scene, and he quickly hopped off the stage as the class did their customary applause, wondering what unlucky sucker would be the next victim.
As the teacher set up the next scene with the next group of people, Julian glanced around the room for a moment as he made his way to one of the stray tables around the room, unsure of what to preoccupy himself with. That problem was soon fixed as a group of his female classmates came over to chat. At least there was that plus side to doing a scene like this. He didn't know what it was about it that girls liked so much, but he wasn't complaining now in the slightest.
Smirking to himself in a flash of a second, he sat himself on the table, with his arms behind him, seeming to slouch slightly in a relaxed, comfortable manner. He kept up with their fervent chatter, seeming not to break his character in the least, flirting and charming his way into a reaction full of girlish giggles and blushes. He could never help himself, and now was a better time than any to act on impulses.

burning time with friends I used to know All the years have washed away the voices tagged: Julian || words: 583 || outfit: lyrics: I remember the music by shane yellowbird "Oh Romeo...where are you Romeo? Forget what your father has said to you and about who he thinks you are! Or If that seems to be too much to ask, then simply declare your love for me and I shall no longer be a Capulet."
Katherine was simply loving this. This was her place, or one of the many places she had here anyways, and she was in the zone currently, with her mind on nothing put the part that she was picked to play. Whenever she was given a part, she always took a moment to calm herself and well, basically become the character herself. Right now she was Juliet Capulet, part of a family that hated the Montagues, and was madly in love with Romeo Montague, so basically, in reality, Juliet's life would be screwed over from here on out, but she didn't care a whit about it, because her love for Romeo overshadowed all this. She paused for a moment to let Romeo speak, before she was speaking again.
"It's only your family who's my enemy. You on the other hand, are completely different from them. Just because you share a last name does not mean that you are like the rest of them. What makes up a person? It's not their hand, or their foot, or even their face, but how you act and how you speak, and how you react to the things around you. I don't care about your last name, because that's not who you are! A rose is still a rose, even when called something else, and even if it were, it would still smell just just as sweet. So you see, you don't have to be known as a Montague. You can just be Romeo and all that comes with that. Don't be what your family says you are, but who you really are with me."
During this part of the scene Katherine's acting was perfect. She got all worked up in the right places, spoke softly in others, but still made sure her point was made. She made sure to always keep contact, and had even cupped "Romeo's" cheek as one point when she was speaking softly during a tender moment. The scene went on from there and soon enough it was over, the class applauding them, and she actually managed a smile. She simply loved acting and couldn't get enough of it. Now that it was over, she was out of her acting zone, and could focus on reality again.
She hopped off the stage and began walking towards where she had left her things on one of the tables in the room. Now that she could focus again, she realized there was a nagging feeling in the back of her head that the boy she had been acting with was familiar. Nooo...it can't be...can it? She wasn't so sure of her mind at the moment, so she decided to go find out herself. She walked over to the table that she had seen the boy walk over to and stopped when she was standing next to him, having to move aside, forcefully is necessary, a few of the girls surrounding him so she could see and talk to him. She crossed her arms before talking to him.
"Hey, so you were actually pretty decent up there. Is that something you actually enjoy doing, or did you just do it because you had to and manage to accidentally be good at it?"

That one stings a little I'm always in the middle And I won't say anything at all Julian's low, soft laugh could be heard as Katherine walked closer. Though it seemed as if he hadn't really meant genuine amusement at what one of the girl's was currently babbling on about. Blond ponytail and a low cut shirt, with possibly one of the shortest skirts the school uniform would allow, Julian wasn't surprised in the slightest by what came out of her mouth. Which bored him, despite him humoring her to flirt with her. It was more self-indulgent action than actual interest he displayed in anyone. His ex-girlfriend had screwed him up that way, so he was barely recognizable to anyone who had met him prior. He never let anyone too close, and this was his way of doing it. "Haha, well I wouldn't exactly say that's the worst possible thing to happen on stage......besides, he sounded like a crappy partner to begin with. Maybe a change is in order, lovely?" he smiled suggestively and in return received a reddening blush, and an avoidance of his gaze. Just as expected, as always. He wasn't sure whether to be pleased with himself, or indifferent about it. Flicking his eyes about the classroom, he vaguely paid attention to what was going on on stage now in the back of his mind as he humored some of the other girls around him. Sometimes he was lucky enough to find they had something interesting to say, but that was on the off-chance, and he was mostly confronted with routine, unless he was to specifically seek someone out. Which didn't happen too often.
It was definitely a problem in what he did, one which he lived with. Interacting with people that were dull sort of came with the territory, though it's not like he sought it out. It was just something to do.
As he let the girl's babble become background noise though pretending to pay attention, something that he either hid well or the blond was just too unobservant and self-involved to pick up on, Julian looked around the classroom trying to find something more interesting to him. And that's when he spotted her.
Leaning to one side then, peering around his classmate, Julian curiously glanced at his acting partner for the day. She was actually coming over here too? He didn't know much about her.....in fact he couldn't recall if he had ever seen her before today....a shame really, but he couldn't possibly think of any reason why she'd want to talk to him.....unless of course it was the same reason he had those girls currently milling around him. And then he had thought she was different. At least she had acted that way.....she was good at what she did then.
As she began to speak, Julian couldn't help but smile a bit to himself. Bold, huh? Now here was something new, that the rest around him didn't have. Not bothering to reply to anyone else's too dull to comment, he tilted his head up gently to look at her face.
"Thanks....." He thought that was a compliment.....maybe. ""You sound surprised.....but yes, I do actually practice at it." He let out a chuckle that lasted a couple seconds then. Was that really all she wanted to ask him? He couldn't be sure, but that would be rather unfortunate. """You weren't half bad yourself..... but I could ask the same about you......or are you into something else....."

burning time with friends I used to know All the years have washed away the voices, tagged: Julian || words: 364 || outfit: lyrics: I remember the music by shane yellowbird It was perfectly clear on Katherine's expression that she wasn't at all impressed with finding her acting partner surrounded by all these girls, who clearly weren't all that smart. It seemed at if they made up for their lack of brains with features that catch a guys eye, but she couldn't care less about that. She was just annoyed that she had to put up with them, even if it was only for a short time. She was perfectly alright with how she looked and didn't give a damn about what anyone else thought. She wouldn't however be completely disagreeable to a compliment or two...if the person was actually sincere about them. She decided to just ignore them as well as possible for the time being.
She also had to admit she wasn't at all impressed by her acting partner at the current moment either, having seen him flirt about with the girls while she had been thinking while sitting at her table. She thought he might have been a decent guy, if he was as good with this as he was acting, but from her point of view so far, she wasn't impressed. She thought he would be better than this, but she wouldn't judge until she knew for sure what kind of guy he was.
"Well I've met very few guys who actually enjoy acting and actually play the part and keep eye contact with you instead of looking...elsewhere." She paused there for a moment, trying to get rid of the awkward feeling that had just entered into the air, before continuing on. "Oh um, thanks. And I actually am into acting, as well as a few other things here and there. This is just one of the things that I'm good at."
Well this conversation was going quite well considering she had only wanted to ask him a question and then leave. Whether she stayed for a while or not though depended on whether this guy wasn't as shallow as he seemed to be so far.
"So what about you? You into other things too? Or are you one of those majorly obsessed theater guys who eat, live, and breathe acting?"

That one stings a little I'm always in the middle And I won't say anything at all She spoke what was on her mind, much like Elizza, Julian noted then, and didn't bother to hide behind pleasantries and simple minded conversation. Well that was a relief.....he was afraid that was all he was going to get at the beginning of their conversation.
Seeming to genuinely take what she said to heart, he simply shrugged with a kinder looking smile, leaning back on his arms again. "Surprise......I'm glad your search is over then," he replied, without the usual snarkiness or implied meaning that seemed to lace his words in whatever he said. Noting he could really do with it.
It was at this time that some of the real him showed, rather than the mask he put out towards other people. He really wasn't all that bad of a guy, but to keep people away, it could sometimes see that way. Between the continuous flirting and avoidance of any personal questions, it was like he had never gotten off the stage, and was parading around as someone he wasn't, which perhaps is why he had gotten so good at taking on other roles and acting in them. He never really stopped acting. It was a distraction from himself, something that he relished.
The sentiment didn't last long though. Taking on one of his trademark smirks, Julian shrugged again, lifting his dark chocolate eyes to hers as if to emphasize the point. ""I wouldn't say it was any difficulty for me......you have a rather pretty face," he finished, flirting shamelessly. He had no idea who she was, and it couldn't hurt to test the waters, even though it seemed a little dangerous, judging by her expression, and as the other girls around him just gawked in silence at the brunette for being ignored because of her.
Just listening, Julian retreated to his own thoughts, instead of humoring the other girls. Catching the 'um', he tilted his head a little. Had he caught her off guard for some reason? Guess she wasn't used to compliments just being thrown around like that. "Hm, maybe I'll have a chance to see that sometime....." he replied, sounding genuine again. He really was interested in people who seemed to share common interests with him. Of course he couldn't really tell right off the bat, but he could guess they were in some way art related if she was so into drama.
"Me.....? No, definitely not," he said with a slight chuckle, even though that was a blatant lie.....technically speaking. He acted and put on a front every moment he was at school, but of course she didn't need to know that she was right. "Photography's more my thing......and some other stuff on the side," he answered her question, wondering where in the world she could be going with this. She had seemed like she was a girl on a mission when she had first walked over, and now he wasn't so sure. words;; 508;; tagged;; Kitty Kat Katherine....nyaaaa :33;; notes;; nyaaaaa :33lyrics;; Say Anything- Mariana's Trenchtemplate made by emrysdaelan of Caution 2.0! keep credit or angry badgers will nom your face off! |

burning time with friends I used to know All the years have washed away the voices, tagged: Julian || words: 418 || outfit: lyrics: I remember the music by shane yellowbird Katherine continue to study him at the back of what she was already planning on asking, and noticed something seemed to be different about him than the way he was acting before she walked over. She couldn't really put her finger on what was going on, but she noted it for future reference. She just simply nodded at what he said about her search being over, humming slightly in agreement, not really knowing how to respond to that, and moved on with the conversation. When he was like this, she couldn't help but to feel as if he was familiar again. Just something about him seemed to jog her memory, but she put it at the back of her mind for now.
She was determined not to have to put up with any attitude that he had with those other girls, and if he turned out to be exactly like what she had seen from him, after her answer she'd just simply leave and end the conversation, because she was really not in the mood to be flirted with shamelessly by some guy that she didn't even really know.
Coming back to the conversation she was a little annoyed to see that she seemed to be right about him in the first place at his next comment and smirk. Well annoyed was maybe a little too rough from just this. irritated was most likely the best word to use here. She couldn't help but to roll her eyes a little as soon as she felt this irritation, but decided to ignore it for the time-being.
"I'm flattered, but that's not exactly what I'm here for," she said, in a tone that clearly said she wasn't impressed with this. At his comment at seeing how her acting was sometime she tried to hide her irritation. "That depends I guess..." This was going downhill quite quickly she realized, so she decided she better get on with what she wanted to ask before she did something that she might possibly regret later due to her irritation.
"That's great, really. But I actually have something I wanted to ask you." It was clear she was being kind of rude and just was getting to the point, but she just wanted her answer and still be able to walk away without smacking him over the head. "Look...have we met before or something? Because you seem vaguely familiar for some reason."

That one stings a little I'm always in the middle And I won't say anything at all It seemed as if he had hit a nerve. Which was always a chance Julian took in flirting, though most of the time he got girls who were interested in flirting back, like those currently still standing about, though some had gone off to do their own thing, noticing the tension in the air, given off by at least either Katherine or himself.
Deep confusion made him furrow his brows. So the rest of the conversation so far had just been pleasantries? What was she getting at? He'd be damned if he knew. She seemed to totally be dancing around the point she had wanted to make. Not that he minded speaking to her. It was a little fun to try and crack her, even though she seemed to be angry with him.
Ignoring her abrasiveness for the most part, glad that there was no more guessing involved, Julian listened to what she had come over to ask. Though as the words left her mouth, his own fell into a confused little 'o', eyes looking up at her questioningly with a quizzical quirk of his brow. What was she talking about? "Yeah.........about half an hour ago up there...." he pointed to the stage, currently being trampled on by two students in a heated argument scene. He couldn't remember any other time that they had met, although he did seem to keep pretty faces he met in mind sometimes. "Don't you remember.......? I thought you were pretty proud of what you did up there...." he added in a wry, more snarky tone then he had wanted it to be, folding his arms over his chest as a frown filled his features. He found himself getting a little irritated as well. What kind of a question was that, after all of that build up? They went to the same school, so it seemed more than redundant, even though he hadn't talked to her prior. He was beginning to regret doing it now though.
They were bound to have a couple classes together for sure at Kingswood, so that's probably what she was thinking of, though he thought it so obvious he didn't bother saying it out loud. Why would she spend all this time to ask such an obvious question? Then again.....why was he getting so worked up over it. He was used to dealing with stupidity by now, especially by the people he surrounded himself with. Did he know her?
Giving her another once over, his frown deepened, no ideas coming to mind. God damn it. The thought was in his head now, stuck and planted there, and he couldn't let it go. Did he know her from somewhere other than Kingswood? Or didn't he?.....Because there could only be one other possible option, and he didn't even want to consider his past, in any way shape or form coming back to haunt him. He wanted to leave New York far, far behind him, laying in the dust where it belonged. words;; 510;; tagged;; Kitty Kat Katherine....nyaaaa :33;; notes;; nyaaaaa :33lyrics;; Say Anything- Mariana's Trenchtemplate made by emrysdaelan of Caution 2.0! keep credit or angry badgers will nom your face off! |

burning time with friends I used to know All the years have washed away the voices, tagged: Julian || words: 376 || outfit: lyrics: I remember the music by shane yellowbird Katherine could see the look of confusion on the boy's face as he wondered what this was all about, and that again made him seen oh so familiar, but she still couldn't remember! It was very frustrating and might possibly be one of the reasons why she was so irritated with this boy.
Although the irritation grew once again at his un-needed comments about having seen him 30 minutes ago when they had been performing a scene. She sighed in frustration, trying to keep calm, although she was seriously beginning to doubt that this tactic would work for long. And she was right. With his next comment, spoken in a rather snarky tone, she'd had enough and if she stayed for a minute longer she swore she'd smack his head.
"Of course I remember! I'm not stupid, if that's what your thinking. I was talking about having seen you sometime before today. Did you really think I was talking about just now?" She pinched the bridge of her nose with a sigh of frustration and finally decided she'd had enough. Whoever he was, even if she didn't remember, obviously wasn't worth it now. "Nevermind, this was a bad idea and a waste of time." And with that she turned around and began to walk away. She had only taken a couple steps though when it suddenly hit her and she froze. She knew exactly who this was. Granted he was a whole lot different now, and also a bit of shameless flirt, but back then, back in her New York high school, he'd been a sweet and shy guy. What on earth happened to him? "Holy shi-" she said as she turned around, her mouth slack in shock. "ASHLEY?!"
She couldn't believe it, even seeing him with her own eyes, but it had to be him. Now that she thought about it, just his overall appearance seemed familiar. If this really was him, she just didn't want to believe it. If she was wrong however and just blurted out that name for no reason, then she would most likely feel quite stupid and just forget about the whole situation together and move on. But all of this depended on how the guy reacted to her outburst.

That one stings a little I'm always in the middle And I won't say anything at all Julian was clearly unhappy about how things were going now, a deep frown of confusion with a bit of a pout on his lips as he tried to sort his thoughts, though as much as he tried, still nothing came to mind, and it was annoying him to no end. Either she knew him for some reason, and wasn't telling, or she had made a mistake but pushed it so that he had gotten nervous about it. And when he got nervous, instead of shying away and falling silent like in New York, oh no; he got mean. It was what happened when he felt boxed into a corner. Which tended to happen a lot because of all the things he'd rather keep hidden. Huffing in exasperation, Julian shook his head, running a hand through his hair.
"What else am I supposed to think? I don't know you," he insisted, biting the inside of his cheek. Giving up on trying to place a name to the face, he just thought that in fact, all of this had been a mistake, and he was making a big deal out of nothing when in fact he had never spoken a word to her in his life up until today. He might not remember everyone he had met at a particular time, but those that he had interacted with before he happened to recognize at least after a little while if asked about it. ""Look, like most people, I've met a lot.....and you, unfortunately, don't happen to stand out," he retorted in finality. This was getting on his last nerves, and he didn't really care about all the strange and shocked looks he was getting from those still standing around them, eavesdropping in on their conversation. He knew he wasn't acting like himself.....in fact he never acted like himself, but this was way out of the comfort zone that he had made for himself.
As Katherine announced her leave, Julian was glad it was finally over. This wasn't exactly the best way to spend an afternoon. Pinching the bridge of his nose as he let his head drop downcast to the floor, he sighed again, trying to calm his irritation. It didn't work out so well though when his name was called. Startled, because he didn't expect anyone to know it here, at Kingswood, but his family, he jumped, and stared in front of him with his deep chocolate eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights. How could she even.....? Opening his mouth to say something in return, Julian sharply stopped himself, biting down on his lip.
Even the teacher and a couple other students turned to Katherine, wondering what the outburst was about.
It didn't used to be such a big deal, that he hated his name so much that he would go so far as to introduce himself as 'Julian' when he came to Kingswood. He still hadn't liked it before, but in New York, he would have shyly laughed it off and corrected people on what he wanted to be called. Being new at LaGuardia, he usually had to deal with it in the first few weeks, as teachers would look to the attendance to find out names before they learned nicknames, and he was even called 'Ashley' by a few of the students who recognized him from their classes. But the only way Katherine could possibly know that is.......well if he had been right in the first place. And he prayed he wasn't right.
Blushing in embarrasment, heat rising in his cheeks turning it a shameful deep pink, Julian found he couldn't look Katherine in the eye. Whispering a few flirtatious 'sorry's and 'be right back's in the remaining girls' shocked ears, trying to regain some composure, he hopped off the table before swiftly walking over to Katherine, leaning into her ear. """Can we talk......outside. Alone," he asked lowly, but even before getting an answer, he took her hand in his and led her outside the classroom. Making sure the door closed, he leaned against the wall with his arms folded over his chest dejectedly, studying Katherine with a none too happy expression on his face. burning time with friends I used to know All the years have washed away the voices, tagged: Julian || words: 485 || outfit: lyrics: I remember the music by shane yellowbird Now that Katherine knew without a doubt who this guy actually was, she could pinpoint many things that had changed about him, just from their one conversation, and from what she had seen, and she had to say, she still wasn't impressed. where had all this, what seemed like arrogance and defensiveness come from? She always remembered he had been rather sweet a couple years ago when she had first seen him. She supposed though that a lot can change in the blink of an eye, when looking back on her life, so she'd give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
She also didn't particularly like how he'd been talking to her a moment ago either, and the comment about her not standing out had actually gotten to her and she felt rather resentful for that, but restrained herself from replying to that, since she now had other things on her mind.
She noticed that she had been rather loud with her findings and almost wanted to shout at them all and tell them that this wasn't nay of their damn business and that there was nothing to see, but she knew she'd get in trouble by the teacher for saying that, and she wasn't in a particular mood to get into trouble today, so she wisely kept her mouth shut. That didn't stop her from glaring at all the people staring at them however.
She did feel just a tad sorry for embarrassing Ashley like this, but that was all she felt sorry for. He deserved what ever else she did to him by being incredibly rude a moment ago, as well as just suddenly grabbing her hand and yanking her along after him. Who was he to say that she had to follow him? Maybe she didn't want to, even though her curiosity was beginning to get a bit much, but she pushed that down for the most part for now. She didn't even get a chance to give her approval of this...whatever kind of meeting this was.
By the time they reached her destination though she was tugging her hand to get it out of hsi grasp, and when he didn't let go, finally she managed to bite out, "Let. Go of me!" With this she finally managed to forcefully yank her hand out of his and held it to her chest, as if wounded for a moment, before crossing her arms, feeling rather irritated and man-handled just. "What the hell was that all about?! I didn't need to be man-handled to follow you. I can walk perfectly fine on my two legs without needing assistance thank you very much." Her tone while speaking obviously showed how annoyed she was at being dragged out here, and it was more the fact that she had been dragged out here without her permission than actually having to talk outside of the room.

That one stings a little I'm always in the middle And I won't say anything at all Just as Julian dropped her hand, Katherine yanked it out of his grip. "If you haven't noticed, I've already had," he replied with a little scoff and an upturn of his head. She was fire-y and had spunk, which he usually liked but now it was just annoying him past the boiling point and giving him a headache. Why did she have to be so damn difficult? He would blame it on the fact that she did happen to come from the worst part of his life, but he shook it off. That was a stupid idea and he knew it.
"I could ask you the same thing, miss," he emphasized the word, emphasizing the point that he didn't even know her name. He might have already forgotten it since the beginning of class. He didn't really think he'd be speaking to her again so soon.....or ever, even though he did enjoy their little scene.....and she was pretty, he couldn't deny that, though he wished he could get past how irritated she made him to enjoy it. "Besides, I didn't know if you were going to make another outburst like before," he finished in obvious disdain and discontent. Really, had that been necessary at all? He was still blushing just thinking about it as he shifted in discomfort. Biting the inside of his cheek, he let her speak.
"You're quite welcome," he retorted, though it was obvious the comment was meant more in spite than genuineness. Studying her once more, he fell silent before getting down to business. As much as he hated it, he needed to know who she was. Not even mentioning his curiosity, he couldn't very well leave things as be now, not after that, and not after she seemed to know him a heck of a lot more than he knew her. Still nothing came to mind while he looked upon her face.
"Who are you and how do you know my name." He said it more as a statement, and not a question to be answered. He wasn't giving up until he got them anyway. And then they could avoid each other as much as they very well wanted.....if that was in fact what they wanted. But Julian was already planning on it. He wanted to have absolutely nothing to do with his past, and if Katherine was the way it got brought back, then he would avoid her at all costs.

burning time with friends I used to know All the years have washed away the voices, tagged: Julian || words: 472 || outfit: lyrics: I remember the music by shane yellowbird "Well it certainly wasn't quick enough as I've been trying to yank my hand away the entire time you were dragging me," she said in a clearly annoyed tone. She wanted to make it pretty darn obvious that she didn't like being man-handled anywhere, even if it was just outside of the room. Now that this part was over she just wanted to get all of her questions answered s quickly as possible, because she honestly wasn't sure how much longer she could take his company at this point without completely losing it on him. It appeared however, that Ashley had some questions of his own that she'd have to answer first, and she wasn't particularly looking forward to that either, because it seems she had managed to dig herself a hole without meaning to.
She'd have to explain who she knew him, but why he didn't know her, and that would involve mentioning that she may have used to like him during her earlier years at LaGuardia. and that fact right there was just asking for trouble, since she'd seen how arrogant he'd become and how likely he would be to tease her over it. Despite how good looking he may be now, which she couldn't help but to remind herself of, he was still not the same as he had been and she didn't like it so far.
When she noticed him clearly trying to figure out what her name was, that also hit a sore spot, since he didn't even know who she was, but she ignored that for now, wanting to just get this over with. "It's Katherine...but I prefer to be called Kat." At the comment about the outburst she got defensive again. "Well so-rry for that. I just had the total shock of my life when I realized that you go to school here now too." She rolled her eyes in annoyance at his comment, not really wanting to deal with that right now.
Thinking back on her old memories at his question she caught herself biting her lip at once point, but only for a moment before she stopped and went back to how she normally acted. "Well, for starters, we both went to LaGuardia in New York, and I may have well...admired you a bit while we went to school there, but you had a girlfriend at the time, so I never really talked to you. Sooo...that's how I know you. As for who I am to you? Well nobody important I guess..." While speaking she seemed to be almost somewhat of a different person, since she was being somewhat reluctant to talk about scertain things, and she sounded rather unsure of herself at the end as well, not really knowing what else to say or how Ashley would react to all of this.

That one stings a little I'm always in the middle And I won't say anything at all Julian remained deadpan as Katherine began to complain about her so called 'man-handling'. He doubted that she would have come in the first place if he hadn't anyway, she seemed the kind to do that, but there was no point in adding another argument onto the list. The ones they already had now were too much, and he didn't want to add to the headache by starting another one.
With a slight nod of his head, he tasted her name on his tongue. "Katherine........Kat, huh?" he murmured quietly, making note of it for later.....if it was even necessary. By the way things were going now, despite his curiousity, he doubted he'd seek her out in any way that would require him to remember it, or even make something else of it like he usually did with the names of girls he talked to. He didn't bother sharing his own. It seemed to be that she already knew it.
With a barely heard, quiet frustrated sigh, Julian bit back the comment he was going to make at her retort. He should be more shocked at the fact that she knew him from LaGuardia, but he had no clue who she was. His usual quiet seclusion had left him unaware, he guessed, and usually kept to himself unle it had been with Eric or Emily, or someone else who deliberately seeked him out. He had felt uncomfortable in his own skin there, and it would have been obvious to anyone who had paid close enough attention to him, much like Katherine seemed to have. Lips turning into a pouty frown at those thoughts, Julian just stayed silent as he listened to her story. Soon after though, his expression turned to one of shock. Really now?......He couldn't believe it. She had had a crush on him?.....That sure didn't seem to be the case now though.
He wondered what would have happened if she had actually gone to speak to him, instead of just watch from afar. Maybe he wouldn't have been with Emily.....and maybe he'd still be at LaGuardia today, with Katherine. Maybe he would have still been the same person who had gone there today....and not the person he was upon coming back to Kingswood. Studying her a bit before speaking, he noticed that the fire and abrasiveness in her had disappeared for the time being. With a curious look, Julian's cold attitude seemed to melt away, leaving a certain kind of kindness to him, one that would be familiar to anyone who had met him prior.
"I'm sorry.....for before, I mean. I wasn't myself...." And his apology was sincere, surprising even himself for someone who had been so irritated with her a moment before. Looking back on it now, he really had got caught in the moment, making him unlike himself, nerves firing off in every direction possibe, looking for a means of escape. He hadn't known what to do or how to deal with having his past coming back to haunt him, but now he realized it probably wasn't as big a deal as he made it out to be. At least in Katherine's case. She had nothing to do with the drama that had ensued there, even though she was a reminder of it. "I really wished you would have come to talk to me back then...." he admitted, noting her forlorn expression as she said that she was no one to him. He was sincere about that to, dwelling on what was and what could have been. words;; 605;; tagged;; Kitty Kat Katherine....nyaaaa :33;; notes;; nyaaaaa :33lyrics;; Say Anything- Mariana's Trenchtemplate made by emrysdaelan of Caution 2.0! keep credit or angry badgers will nom your face off! |

burning time with friends I used to know All the years have washed away the voices, tagged: Julian || words: 669 || outfit: lyrics: I remember the music by shane yellowbird Katherine was just wating for the snarkyness to return, since that's all she'd really seen him react to what she's said so far, when Ashley finally spoke to her again. It seemed like the sort of thing to expect from what she knew of he was now, even though it was very little. No one could really blame her though. He had given her a pretty bad first impression, although her's really hadn't been that great either she had to admit to herself. Honestly, right now her mind was going in so many directions and thinking so many things that it would start to give her a headache soon if it didn't stop. She had to stop ehrself from rubbing at her temples though, because that would show how much this was really getting to her.
When Ashley did the exact oppisite of what she had expecting, she was surprised, albeit pleasantly so. She appreciated him not being arrogant to tease her about what she preferred, since she really didn't want to deal with something like that at the moment either. There was quite enough going on without adding that in. She had to admit though...that she liked the way her name sounded when he spoke it. She simply nodded when he seemed to be trying out her preferred name, not really knowing how to respond to that either.
She was glad she seemed to take this information about how she knew him rather calmly as well. she had expected arrogance, possibly even ridicule, but what she got was completely different. It was a look she recognized as well from who he used to be. So maybe he wasn't all completely gone then. The Ashley she remembered might just be buried underneath all this arrogance and cockiness she ahd seen from before.
She managed a small smile with a slight shrug when he apologized and confirmed what she had been thinking just moment before. "It's alright. I wasn't exactly completely forthcoming in what I wanted to know. I may have gotten a little too defensive and rude as well. So, ya know....sorry about that," she said, apologizing awkwardly. She wasn't really used to apologizing to people, which was why she felt awkward about it, but she felt as if she had been a bit harsh when speaking to him, when he hadn't even known who she was to begin with.
At his comment about how he wished she had talked to him back then she looked up at him, a bit surprised, not having expected him to say that. As she thought about it though, there must have been a reason for him to leave. Something that deeply affected him must have happened, but she had no idea about it, since she hadn't really known Ashley too well, so alls he knew was that he had transfered schools one day, and hadn't heard anything about why. She wouldn't pry and ask though, since she didn't really want to think abuot why she had come here either.
When Ashley said this though, it got her thinking as to what wuold have happened if she had talked to him. Maybe she wouldn't have joined that damn band in the first place, or gone out with that stupid boy. Maybe she still would have been her old self. It was nice to think about it, but it was all just a dream however. She had been hurt and there was no going back to how carefree she used to be. She hummed her slight agreement quietly before saying, "Yeah...then maybe things would have turned out differently." As she said this looked away from him and shoved her hands into her pockets just to give her hands something to do other than cross her arms across her chest, because that's usually what she did when she felt defensive of threatened, but she wasn't feel ing that now. She felt...well, she actually could place what she was feeling at this point. It was all confusing her.

That one stings a little I'm always in the middle And I won't say anything at all With a gentle smile, Julian nodded in acceptance of her apology. "It's alright.....I guess I just got a bit too nervous at your secrecy..." he admitted, surprised at how honest he was being with her. He usually wasn't, even with people who had spoken to many a time. What was it about her that was making him do this? The fact that she already seemed to know who he was and no amount of hiding under his flirtatious persona would change that? Maybe. Maybe not. All he knew was he could barely stop the words coming from his mouth now.
"Can we start over again, kitten?" he asked with a sweet smile. Surprising himself yet again, Julian mulled over the nickname that he had seemed to pull right out of thin air for her. Kitten......he liked it. In fact he liked it a lot. That one was a keeper. And he guessed she reminded him of one so much too. Spunky and rebellious, but ultimately fun and rather cute. Maybe after getting past this whole argument he would talk to her more. Now that they seemed to not want to tear each other apart at the throat anymore anyway.
"Hi, I'm Juli-......Ashley," he corrected himself with a bit of a wry, uncomfortable look, he still wouldn't get used to it despite that being his actual name, as he offered his hand for a shake, as if they had never met up until this point. A fresh start was definitely what they needed.
Noting her saddened expression about wishing things to be different, Julian became even more curious about her than he already was, albeit he didn't say anything in reply. Why was she sad too? It couldn't possibly be because of him. He may be an arrogant jerk some of the time, but he wasn't so vain as to believe that he was the cause of her forlorn look. What was up with her? He wondered, though he felt as if now was not the time to ask. They had just stopped fighting only seconds ago, and he didn't want to jeopardize that. words;; 365;; tagged;; Kitty Kat Katherine....nyaaaa :33;; notes;; nyaaaaa :33lyrics;; Say Anything- Mariana's Trenchtemplate made by emrysdaelan of Caution 2.0! keep credit or angry badgers will nom your face off! |
